City Center Complex Update (Feb. 26, 2024)

So just really quickly, just to give you a reminder of our city center project, three buildings, $44 million, and it's going to be bid and constructed in five phases. This one is about the fourth bullet point you see there, the architectural finishing three buildings in landscape. So back in December, we came to you. It's bid package number four. It was the architectural finishes, roofing, masonry, fire protection and landscaping.

We had originally estimated that that would come in about 12,000, not 12,000. That would have been great, $12 million. It actually came in a little over $14 million. So that's obviously a $2 million over over our estimate at that point, you guys directed us to work with an oversight committee to identify savings, which we did. And we identified over just a little over $1 billion in savings. So we did that in a bid package five, the deed up to $1 million.

It was bid in big package five, but we also bid at the same time items such as the stairs, visual display services, partitions, and that came in at $490,000. So the total combined decrease is $565,000, $565,060. That was hard for me. Our total budget is still 44 million and our current budget is just a little over 39 million. Just to give you a little visual of what we changed, the original City Hall and the updated City Hall picture of.

As you can see, not much has changed, but it did save us the money that we needed to save. This is the East view, the original view and the updated view. This is what it looks like outside middle of last week. And these are our next steps. We will be bidding package six for your approval in April and we're still on schedule. You have any questions? Next month is March of ‘24. Oh, one year. One year to go. Thank you very much. And thanks for the rundown for this, because as we've all said, this is a different process that we're going through on on the negotiations. From that. We have $44 million that we spent for this project is our everything's within that budget. Sometimes it goes up and down.

But at the end of the day, on the other side of the equal sign is 44 million. Very good. Thank you, counsel. Any questions? No. Thank you for your due diligence to keep the GMP were supposed to be. Thank you. Well, there's no choice. I mean, the CMAR is that 44 million is the budget and that some things are higher, some are lower, and we will not be over budget. And this is a is an illustration of how this process works and works effectively. So we don't end up with change orders after a great, great I feel like a broken record, but I think it's really important.

It is. This is the first thing that we've done, and I'm not aware of any communities in the surrounding area that are doing this process. And so people will always have questions. And so we're just trying to explain as much as possible what this process is, because there's been statements out there that we're overbudget, we're not overbudget. There is a equation here equals 44 million that this council approved, that 44 million is not change. So thank you very much..
