[Music] you know when I think about the LA the year that we've just gone through I think the recurring theme is tulson doing what they've got to do to help one another out you think about that in huge dollar terms with the passage of improve our Tulsa in August one of the largest infrastructure programs in the history of the city uh with not a whole lot of new stuff in there but maintaining our core infrastructure while keeping our taxes at the existing level making those Investments are going to make Tulsa a safer and easier City to navigate while taking care of the things that tulson have already paid for in the past properly maintaining the things that we own you think about uh what we've done that's really been groundbreaking and brand new for the City of Tulsa in the area of homelessness and housing and mental health a big part of that improve our Tulsa program included funding for affordable housing initiatives in Tulsa you think about the work that the council and I I did through our housing homelessness and mental health task force over the last year meeting every week for months to learn from experts how the city can be most helpful and really increase its role in addressing homelessness in our city to get more of our fellow tulson off the street and get them the help that they need uh and that's led to over 20 different initiatives that we've launched in the last year to address homelessness in our city or you think about how tulson pulled together as if we haven't been through enough disasters in the last four years like ah yeah let's have a giant storm that knocks out power for 200,000 households uh including selfservice by the way so it's really hard for our First Responders to communicate with one another and it ended up being the largest green waste collection event in the history of the city even more uh than the the horrible ice storm from the early 2000s we collected did almost a million uh cubic yards of green waste in the last year and have processed all of that uh and that was another example of tulson stepping up to help each other out when we're in the middle of the summer people don't have power our big ask for tulson was reach out to your neighbors make sure especially elderly neighbors or neighbors that may have health concerns that they have a place that they can get to where they'll have climate control uh and power so uh it was another just great example one after another of tulson stepping up and helping each other out whether it's dealing with Nature's challenges helping one another out in new ways uh or investing in our infrastructure for the long term uh we just keep working together to make this the best city it can be and it really sets us up for what I think is going to be a historic 2024
