welcome back joining us this morning ahead of the international Finals Rodeo Miss Rodeo USA Anna woy it's also the last day for the Stampede at the E there's a lot going on in Oklahoma yes there is let's talk about being Miss Rodeo USA it's a big honor we have you an Oklahoma girl representing us yes it's been 22 years since we had the last msto USA and uh Georgian ABDO Gillum was her name and she's actually my mom's best friend so it's definitely come full circle yes okay what do you do as Miss rodo USA so basically I'm a public relations person for the sport of rodeo I represent the international professional rodeos Association and so I'll travel around across the country I go to school visits sponsor visits uh travel to rodeos carry the American flag and really just kind of help out wherever I'm needed at the rodeo what has been your favorite part of the entire year oh my gosh Maron one I know I know so I've done a lot of traveling and my favorite part was actually a rodeo in Von or Tennessee I met some really great people and I still talk to the murans to this day and I'm going to go visit them again and so that's kind of been my favorite moment was to be able to connect with them that's so fun yeah okay we have this upcoming Rodeo this week tell me about it so stamp of the e is a WC rodeo and this actually just got voted by Governor stit that this is the richest 10 days in Oklahoma so there's a lot of payout the IFR is going to pay out over half a million dollars to its contestants also and this one this weekend is paying out over $400,000 and so it's a really big event and the final performance is tonight they had the short go at 7:30 at the lazy E Arena okay and then coming up this next week January 11th through the 14th tell me about that one that's the international Finals Rodeo so all year long Cowboys and cowg girls have been competing they've been going to rodeos across the country uh winning um money and towards and that money they take the top 15 out of each um each division and they get to compete for the half million dollars at the IFR and so that's this weekend the performances are in the evening also at the lazy e for little girls that want to get involved I looked up to Rodeo Queens myself growing up how do they start that so I started at my local sky princess pageant and that was the very first one I entered my mom she was a former rodeo queen so she kind of knew about it a little bit but they also have sweetheart divisions for little ones to uh usually tin and unders for the sweethearts but um I wanted to win a barrel saddle for a horse that I just made go around the barrels who weren't good but I wanted a saddle and so I entered and I won the saddle and 10 years later here I am as M rodo USA well you're giving up the crown in a week we're so excited that you're representing us an Oklahoma herself we'll have to see the next R is hopefully AB another Oklahoma hopefully you've done a great year service so thank you thank okay we'll have all this information on how you can go see the rodeo see your pass up or title right on the news9 app
